U.S. Army Medicine Civilian Corps to Exhibit Nationwide at Nursing Conferences this September

September 4, 2018 - Fort Sam Houston, Texas The Civilian Corps, a branch of the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM), will exhibit at several nursing healthcare conferences during September 2018. These events include the National League for Nursing Summit in Chicago, IL; the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses Annual Convention in Orlando, FL; the National Conference for Nurse Practitioners in Anaheim, CA; the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Annual Congress in Boston, MA; the ENA.org Emergency Nursing Conference in Pittsburgh, PA, and the NPACE Primary Care Conference & Pharmacology Update in Phoenix, AZ.

A full list of events that the Civilian Corps will be exhibiting at can be found at their Events page.

The Civilian Corps is a nationwide recruiter of medical and behavioral healthcare professionals. It hires civilian personnel to work alongside military counterparts at Army hospitals and clinics.

Civilians make up approximately 60% of the total Army Medicine workforce and are not subject to military requirements, such as enlistment or deployment. They do enjoy competitive salaries, health and life insurances and access to state-of-the-art training and equipment in the Army facilities.

“We are in constant pursuit of our Nation’s top talent to fill our critical vacancies. We are looking for the best and brightest candidates who are interested in joining our high-performing healthcare team; there are opportunities throughout the United States as well as overseas in places such as Germany, Italy, Japan, and Korea. By filling nursing positions with our country’s most highly qualified candidates, the MEDCOM Civilian Corps can continue providing the best quality of care to U.S. Army uniformed service members, retired service members, their families and other eligible beneficiaries,” says Mr. Oscar Bocanegra, Director of Civilian Human Resources, Headquarters U.S. Army Medical Command.

MEDCOM comprises one of the largest healthcare networks in the world. It operates worldwide at more than 70 healthcare facilities and clinics, many of which are located at military bases within the United States. A large percentage of these bases are in rural areas, but function as self-sufficient entities. Low living costs make them excellent places to retire or start a family. Additionally, most are only hours away from major metropolitan areas.

Additionally, a career as a healthcare professional at a MEDCOM facility affords very different daily experiences when compared roles at a private practice or community hospital. Civilian Corps employees have praised their flexible work schedules, lower amounts of collateral work and the ability to spend more time focused on their patients to provide the best possible treatment

Civilian Corps recruitment specialists are looking forward to speaking with qualified candidates at events they will be attending this month and beyond. Candidates can always browse positions and submit their resume or CV at www.civilianmedicaljobs.com
