U.S. Army Medicine Civilian Corps To Host Virtual Career Fair

1/21/13 (Mon)

The Civilian Corps of the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) will host an interactive online career fair Jan. 28 – Feb. 1, 2013 to recruit for behavioral health professionals at Fort Hood, Texas and other locations nationwide. The behavioral health online career fair will recruit for psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, licensed clinical social workers and psychiatric nurse practitioners to staff the Embedded Behavioral Health (EBH) teams at medical treatment facilities.

The EBH model establishes an efficient provider-to-patient ratio embedded within each unit’s footprints so that soldiers have easier access to behavioral health care in a timely manner. By providing an adequate number of EBH teams, dependent on the number of units at each medical treatment facility, the providers are able to treat patients with preventative care before behavioral health concerns become more of an issue. The EBH model also allows providers to get to know their patients on a more personal level, ultimately establishing a trusting relationship and a rewarding career.

The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, located in Killeen, Texas, will have four EBH teams established in its Behavioral Health Department by mid-year. To learn more about the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical center, visit http://www.crdamc.amedd.army.mil/Default.aspx. Be sure to attend the interactive online career fair next week, Jan. 28, at www.CivilianMedicalJobs.com/webfair.
