The Defense Health Agency employs family practitioners with the unique skills and knowledge to provide ongoing, comprehensive medical care to each member of the family. Family physicians with specialty training in the broad disciplines of primary care, including in-depth coverage of adult and pediatric medicine, preventive care and OB care, are the cornerstone of family medicine and in developing an ongoing, personal patient-physician relationship focused on integrated care.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine, diagnose, prevent, and treat medical, surgical, obstetric, gynecological, and orthopedic patients of all ages.
  • Provide continuous and comprehensive primary care for infants, children, youth, and adults.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team of individuals.
  • Coordinate and integrate care across all elements of the healthcare system (e.g., subspecialty care, hospitals, home health agencies, and nursing homes).
